To determine which executives to honor, HDM solicited nominations from its readers. HDM editors then submitted their own recommendations, based on their knowledge of the industry. The editorial staff then reviewed each candidates\u2019 qualifications and decided on the final list.

The list is composed of women working in HIT within three categories:

\u2022\tHealthcare IT executives working at healthcare provider organizations.
\u2022\tHealthcare IT thought leaders.
\u2022\tHealthcare IT vendor executives.
